I was born and raised here in Howard County. I graduated from the Howard County school system and attended college at West Virginia University and Catonsville Community College. I couldn't sit still for long and decided to branch out and become a career firefighter with the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department. I spent 13 years running in and out of burning buildings (sometimes as hot as 1,000 degrees), driving the fire trucks (Yes, I was the driver), and providing emergency medical care (riding the ambulance) to those in need. I retired early from the fire department in 2003 to become a full time real estate agent and follow in the footsteps of my entire family. I miss driving the fire engine through all the traffic with the siren and emergency lights going. I am still in close contact with the firefighters and paramedics that I worked with too.
In 2003, I was awarded the Rookie REALTOR of the Year Award for the State of Maryland and Howard County. I love taking online courses to better my education. With work so busy and a family life that is even busier, this give me the flexibility I want.
I am a proud parent to a fantastic 12 year old daughter and I love all the activities she is currently involved in. My daughter attends a Howard County school and is very active in modeling, theater, ice skating and dance. When I am not working, which feels like all the time, we get out of the house and go ice skating or roller skating, take a walk around the mall and do a little bit of shopping, attend the theater here in the county or in Baltimore or dine out at a local restaurant and just enjoy being together. I was born and raised with music and theater all around us. My family and I have always supported the arts and will continue to do so!
You can hear people say their clients are important to them, but hopefully I am proof of this! I've attended more weddings, events, and parties in the last 9 years than in my entire life. I work to build a wonderful rapport with my clients that continues on for many years. I've attended Toby's Dinner Theater with my past clients, Bruce and Rose LeRoy. It has become a tradition for us to meet two to three times a year to see each other, relax, enjoy great food and a wonderful show. Arnold and Sandy Farley called one day and we went bowling. I hadn't bowled in years, and we had a great time.
My entire family is in the business, from my mother, currently a manager, to my father & step mother along with both of my brothers and sister. I asked my brothers, who have been in the business for a while now and are pretty successful, what is that makes people come back to you time and time again? They both said, "Customer Service!" Answer your phone when it rings, keep all clients informed throughout the process and make sure you are respectful every step of the way. I have lived by those rules since my first day of selling real estate! Maybe that is why my clients keep coming back to me.
